Description
This is a Xelocopa caerulea, a blue carpenter bee widely ditributed in Southeast Asia, India and Southern China. The thorax region of these insects are covered with blue hairs, giving it a striking blue color. This photo is a stacking of 48 exposures, taken using an automatic focus stacking rail in my macro studio. I used a vintage inverted mounted Pentax 50 mm f/1.7 lens with 68 mm extension tubes
